Levitate® – A Superior, Adaptable Balcony System

Balco Levitate open balcony system was originally introduced in our Danish market, a previous version of the system has been widely used across inner-city Copenhagen. Now fully refined, the Balco Levitate open balcony system is available for the UK and other European markets. The system’s unique modular construction allows our installation teams to maximize the efficient use of site equipment, delivering quality and precision with safety. Safe and Efficient Installation

One of the key benefits of the Balco Levitate open balcony system is that the initial installation phase can be carried out from the scaffolding. Stub connectors are installed first, allowing façade work to continue without interruption. Following this, the Levitate support arms are fitted as the scaffolding is dismantled, ensuring no extra time is added to the scaffolding schedule.

The balcony itself then is brought into its position onto the Levitate arms and locks into place automatically – it’s that simple! Site tolerance issues, such as discrepancies between the balcony flooring and the door threshold, can often present challenges. However, the Balco Levitate open balcony systems  unique adjustability system allows for easy corrections, ensuring a perfect fit.

Unique Construction

The foundation of Levitate is its robust slab, featuring a steel frame with an aluminium cassette, topped with flooring. Concrete floor tiles are the standard option, though aluminium decking is also available. The system incorporates controlled drainage, including a drip edge that prevents water from cascading onto balconies below, avoiding potential issues.

We at Balco also offer a variety of balustrade styles for the Balco Levitate open balcony system. Popular choices include vertical bar balustrades in aluminium or steel, while a frameless structural glass option provides a minimalist look with uninterrupted views. For a bespoke finish, classic RAL colours can be chosen for handrails and vertical bars, and glass panels can be tinted or coloured.

The system is available in twenty-one standard sizes, offering a choice of seven widths and three depths, each in convenient increments of 400mm. If required, Levitate can also be tailored to bespoke dimensions, such as for inset balconies where side walls are in predetermined positions.
